Literature or audio books?

Hello everyone. Almost 2 years sober from alcohol here thanks to you guys and this app alone. For that i am very grateful thank you.

I am trying to sort my terrible over eating habits at the moment. I know im very much all or nothing in my ways but sobriety has always been my priority over my other bad habits.

Im now on day 5 of calorie counting and exercise which is getting easier. However i do notice when it is eating time and im actively eating my brain is craving more very much like i had with alcohol. Didnt matter if i had a full glass i needed to know there was lots more available at all times. Now its easier to control with the food as im sober but the feeling is still very much there what is this behaviour of mine and why does it happen? Is there any literature or audio i could read to help me understand my thinking and control it.

It appears to happen in anything i like i need more of … even material things i notice i get copies just incase. I am on the spectrum but just wondered if anyone can point me in the right direction of some self help understanding and therapy stuff.

Thank you.

Thanks for sharing Willow. I recommend consulting a doctor to have your blood values measured. Although the information and methods in books, websites, etc. are useful, they recommend the same things to everyone. However, just as the nutritional and water values needed by each flower are different, the fat, protein and carbohydrate values needed by each person are also different. After having your blood values measured, getting advice from a dietician to learn the nutrition plan and method that suits you will prevent a lot of time loss and disappointment.

Maybe consider going to overeaters anonymous? I have a few lady friends I met in AA that have been going to OA for quite a few years and they speak very highly of the program. They claim the OA 12 steps has addressed their behavioral issues. It’s free so you got nothing to lose by trying, right? Wishing you the best and hope you find what works for you.

Congratulations on your upcoming 2 years :fireworks:

I found the audio book untethered soul by Michael.A. Singer. Brilliant. It invites us to learn who we are as our inner voice, the way we speak to ourselves and to notice the negative thinking. This helped me in many parts of my life.
