Living sober versus being sober

Agreed…I call it mental & Emotional maturity…Ive been sober for many years & have learned about myself that other people can be triggers for me…at work, traffic drivers, politicians…and based on how I see other normal grown ups behave I see that I can act Immature at times…its about acceptence, tolerance & understanding…my friend in AA told me years ago there are 3 rules in Life…Life aint fair, people dont act right & you cant change the rules…very true…but I need to focus on myself & try not to judge others even if Im right…my goal is peace , happiness, serenity & gratitude…

Agreed…we are all human, with strengths & weaknesses…doing the best we can trying to make it through another day…we are so lucky to have attitude adjustment programs like AA to help us learn to be comfortable in our own skin without drugs or alcohol…so many folks still out there struggling with substance addiction…horrible feeling…I remember…Im proud of all of us who are willing to change , grow up & be the best we can be & good examples our there

I’ve been sober since August 20th, 2021. It got easier as time went by. Of course, I have a very supportive family and my primary doc and psychologist and LPN have been awesome!!! I learned that.God is first in my life. Everything else will take care of itself! I’ve also eliminated triggers in my life to get me to this point. I have some angry people, but I’m putting me first finally! Message me sometime. We live 1 state away. Wisconsin.

Hey Brother-
Good to hear from you. I’m happy you are doing so well…keep moving forward! I’m doing ok, not great. I need to get my confidence back up. Look forward to connecting again.

Absolutely correct…Truth!
