Do you have any sober friends in real life, even a work or school buddy?

I have a few friends that never got into drinking ever and at work I have someone I talk to who is in recovery, he actually helped set me up to go to my first AA meeting this week. I’m 9 months sober but haven’t been able to convince myself to go so I’m slowly making connections that way too.

Hey! That’s excellent news. Stay close to your friend in recovery. It really is one day at a time. If your friend in recovery has what you want, then don’t try to reinvent the wheel. Be willing to take his suggestions to heart. You can do this. You are on the path!
