Hello
48 y/o male with 70 days sober from alcohol and nicotine.
I experience headaches, fatigue, and joint pain in my hips. Headaches come and go. Fatigue and joint pain are pretty constant. Ringing in my ear that is constant.
I had Covid twice last year. Including 3 weeks before I quit.
ENT says my ears look great!
I am wondering if others experienced long symptoms. Were they psychosomatic? How did you relieve?
Acute alcohol withdrawals usually last several days to a few weeks. After the first couple of weeks, the withdrawls become psychological, affecting mood, sleep, appetite etc.
What you are describing sounds like something else. Could be age, diet, level of exercise related. I’m not that far behind you in age and lately I’ve experienced all you listed. I found the more I move, the less stuff hurts; motion is lotion!
I’d definitely recommend getting a blood panel done if you haven’t recently. High glucose levels cause inflammation and that contributes to some of the pains (as is in my case). That would be a good start, to eliminate any obvious causes.
Hope it’s nothing serious and your able to improve!
And congrats on 70 days of sobriety!! That’s pretty rad!
I had extreme tiredness which lasted at least six months, eventually came out the other side with higher energy than ever (although can still have some down periods every now and again) it is WORTH it.
