Not only does listening validate the one being listened to, the listener is actually in a more advantageous position than the speaker.

Think about it. If I’m listening to someone, I know everything I already know, plus what they have just told me. Took me a long time to figure this out. I work in corporate sales and have always felt the need to control the conversation. Once I learned the power of listening and did more of it, I became a better sales professional.
