Low moment, feeling the urge and negative thoughts

Day 19 - Just had a bit of an argument with my girlfriend, some of the same fears of potentially breaking up. What is different is that this time around it’s more her own feelings/issues that have brought us to this point. We are still committed to one another, but the stress of it all really is making me what to say screw it and buy beer.

I’m not going to, but I need support.

Grateful for you all

Nice 19 days, congratulations! Have you noticed music sounds better? How about food? What have you noticed these 19 days have done?

The first 30 days can be rocky, just go to bed tonight without a drink. It all passes and will get better.

Hey man whatever you do, just be careful & know what you’re getting yourself into. I let one of my last relapses do with more then one of my previous girlfriends.
Life is gonna happen, and we are all going to go through hard times.
I can promise if you push through the uncomfortable feelings sober & work on yourself , you’re gonna feel a million times better tomorrow morning & the day after , compared to downing your thoughts on alcohol.

Keeping simple will help with a solid foundation. Changing life style isn’t easiest but there’s evidence that you can.

I hear you brother. I know what you feel like.

Our minds can play tricks on us. They tell us we’re worthless, life isn’t worth living, we’re losers, we’ll always be drunks, without a partner or a home we’re nothing.

It’s all just noise. It’s not real, but b/c we think it…we feel it. And when we beleive our feelings we identify with them. And that becomes our identity. And round and round we go.

Soooo…you gotta start challenging your negative thoughts at every turn and use some positive affirmations. You can borrow mine for now:

  1. You are NOT a bad person! Stop hurting yourself so you can stop hurting others.

  2. You are NOT your past mistakes. Believe you can change! You can make good choices!

  3. You are A BOSS (self confidence).

  4. You are worthy of love and forgiveness. Others are worthy of it too.

  5. You will radiate love and perform acts of service for others.

  6. YOU ARE an awesome dad.

  7. Through God “nothing is impossible”

  8. Stop worrying. Be joyful. Smile.

  9. You are good enough!

  10. I will have peace in mind and spirit.

  11. YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE!

  12. YOU GOT THIS!!!

  13. Positive Mental Attitude & Mindset

  14. Don’t be so hard on yourself.

  15. Have hope. Things will get better!

  16. Through healing yourself, your suffering will cease.

  17. Show up for yourself. You deserve it.

Hang in there!
