I agree with the others. I believe we are healthier when we can learn and grow and then move past old stuff. Dwelling on it or looking for clues or reasons just keeps it all alive. For me, the letting go has been and continues to be liberating.

Finding the balance between acceptance and complacency is something I keep coming back to in lots of areas of life… Baby steps is right!

I can only imagine how hard those hangups are to let go of, being part of an industry that’s basically built on making people feel inadequate.

So many times in the past that I wasn’t aware of how gaslighting was affecting my self-concept and inevitably mental health. I found this useful. Edit: And I absolutely mean going both ways - I have been gaslit and have also used gaslighting to hide or deal with drinking, with myself and with my husband, especially.
