I use this guided meditation where you say out loud “I love you, I’m listening” and you place your hands on your heart and belly and kinda give yourself a hug. It’s on the Insight Timer App.
There are some other guided meditations where you visualize yourself being wrapped in a glowing golden light… it really gives you a warm feeling and sense of self love.
I’m so sorry you went through all that. Undoing those thought patterns are difficult but possible. I’m going through it myself right now…I believe we can get through it and create new thought patterns to get us out of our self hate.
This is an important theme in schema therapy. Hard work dear friend. And I guess in DBT too. VERY much worth it. We tend to turn our hurt inward and blame ourselves for all that went wrong since we were born. Sorry for the waiting list. Big hugs. This place is a huge help too. X
So my psychiatrist is changing my medication in hopes that it will help me better with my depression. I hope it works out but I know it will take awhile before I feel the effects. Thank you everyone for being here for me.
This. Soooo much this. I’m stuck in between “forgetting that the journey is where life happens”. I’m in such a rush to get to the goal being accomplished that I crash and burn from a lack of patience on my way there. So true.
