I found this article:
Basically it takes the place of the lifeline or national suicide prevention hotline. Easier to remember than the 1-800 number. Still way cool.

Hmmm. I’m not suicidal, but it’d be nice to have someone to talk to on speed dial.

There are “warm” lines out there…I used to help run one in Tucson. Basically for people who need someone to talk to for any reason that isn’t a crisis
