I hope these trees now get fan mail.
If they did this at Hogwarts, imagine how many owls the Whomping Willow would get. The shrieking red envelopes too, even, whatever they’re called (it’s been a while).
This one was super cool. German colleague says the literal translation would be something like “ball lightning.”
Pew pew!
You’re looking for a howler.
Dec. 5th mind blowing random thought of the day: Musician John Lennon of The Beatles co-starred in the 1967 comedy film ‘How I Won the War,’ which received bad reviews. However, Lennon liked his character’s round glasses so much that he incorporated the eyewear style into his public persona, giving him his iconic look.
Dec. 6th mind blowing random thought of the day: In 2009, hyperinflation of the Zimbabwean dollar made it one of the lowest valued currencies in the world, so they abandoned it by switching to foreign money. By 2015, the government offered to exchange it at a rate of 1 US dollar for 35 quadrillion Zimbabwean dollars.
I have two dogs and they do their business on the lawn. That’s four legs and puppy feet that never steps in crap. At my ripe old age of over the speed limit, I’ve never seen a dog step in crap.
I’ve noticed that as well
Mine does. He also pees on his own feet. He’s a puppy mill survivor, so I cut him a break and wipe his feet before we get in the house.
Dec. 7th mind blowing random thought of the day: In the United States, as much as 40% of all produce grown is never sold nor eaten because it is classified as being “too ugly.”
That’s crazy. We have the same over here.
Personally I find it disgusting! When people are starving!
A lot of the markets I go to have a special section of ugly fruit/vegetables. We love to get our produce from there, because it’s super cheap. They will sell giant honeycrisps for pennies, because they are “too large”.
Yeah, it’s one of those, the supermarkets all say that is as customers didn’t want ugly veg.
Funny how it’s selling in these markets though, isn’t it?
It’s not really the consumers that are making those choices. It’s the retailers and stores.
We get a weekly shipment of ‘misfits’, pennies on the dollar for perfectly tasty veg and fruit.
Yes. Just a shame we can’t all stand up and start shopping at markets that sell ugly fruit and vegetables.
Dec. 8th mind blowing random thought of the day: Electric Christmas lights were first introduced by inventor Thomas Edison in 1880 as a means of advertising his new incandescent lightbulb.
Dec. 9th mind blowing random thought of the day: The sun is the most perfectly round natural object in the known universe.
So is this just our star or are all stars as perfectly round?
This is likely due to the fact that we cannot observe other stars with as much detail as the sun. This our known universe. The sun’s equatorial bulge varies from its poles by less than the width of a human hair.
