Moments before relapse

todat after hitting the 6 days margin i decided i could no more resist Heroin and decided to get few grams … yet i sincerely asked God not to open that way for me … i got ready and went out just to make a call and find the dealer’s brother is dead and he informed me he wont make it … as much as i was frustrated about that i was happy though am not resetting all over … then my final decision now is starting to take Naltrexone … that is an opiates antagonist which you cannot use while having it in your system … whenever i feel my thinking swaying to using again im going to take it … i heared its good for alcohol though but its 100% preventing heroin from doing any action … im happy now

Have you heard of suboxone? I have been taking naltrexone daily for 3 weeks for alcohol and it really does help the cravings and such. I hear suboxone is a really good medication for opiates I have a lot of friends in treatment who swear by the stuff. I would look into it or ask your Dr. Just my thoughts.

suboxone is a synthetic optiate substitute … it acts like heroin and u can easily get addicted to it … they only use it cuz it has less withdrawal symptoms - not that less though - and its controllable … but loads of people do abuse it … only straight ways work … if your gonna be sober … be sober

Oh I didn’t know. I hear about it a lot in my outpatient program I didn’t know it was addictive :frowning: thanks for the feedback lol but I do take naltrexone daily and I can tell you it has helped me out. Keep up the good work my dude. Best wishes. Happy holidays.

I get the vivitrol shot once a month which is another form of naltrexone. I was very skeptical of its ability to reduce cravings but I have been surprised by its effectiveness thus far. I am very grateful to have it as a tool to aid me in my recovery. It is a huge relief to know that even in a moment of weakness my opiate channels are blocked.
