Merry Christmas everyone. I hope today is a day full of happiness and gratitude. Stay safe and sober.
I appreciate the thank you. Today I was reminded as I was driving to my meeting the importantance of”WE”. Recovery is a we journey not an I journey. I have not been sober since 6/17/17 because of me. Me left alone I want to burn it all down and run. That was the feeling I had as I drove to my normal meeting. I want to just run. Too much pressure from life. Too many demand. Too many bills. Too many everything until I walked into the door and start to shake hands and laugh. Posting on this site, talking with you guys and being honest everyday helps remind me that I am not alone. This journey is rough at times but it beats where I was. I have a lot of growing to still do but I am miles from where I started.
@Butch I think we all have those days. Hang in there. Glad you are here. I always like reading your posts because they help set my mind back on track. I make it a point to read first thing in the morning my quotes and from 24 hours a day to set the tone for my day. One day at a time. Being sober that long is no small task, good work!
Good morning everyone. I pray that you all stay safe and sober. Have a great rest of the weekend and this year.
Good morning and happy new year everyone. This morning I’m sitting in my normal chair reading my normal readings, taking screen shots and preparing my text messages for the last time of 2019. It has me reflecting on what a roller coaster it truly was. Outside of all the ups and downs it has taught me a lot about patience, tolerance, acceptance, how to ask for help, kindness and most of all it brought me closer to God. These are all things I thought were not something that were possible let alone admit. Moving on to 2020 I wish you all a safe and sober New Year. I pray that God will guide and keep you close. All my best Happy New Year.
Happy New Year everyone. I hope it is a great year for everyone. Starting the year sober so it is off to a good start so far.
Happy new year

Instead I am single-minded: Forgetting the things that are behind, … I strive toward the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Phil 3:13-14 (NET)
“Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, so that they can see my glory that you gave me.”—I know the one in whom my faith is set and I am convinced that he is able to protect what has been entrusted to me until that day.—The one who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.
Do you not know that all the runners in a stadium compete, but only one receives the prize? So run to win. Each competitor must exercise self-control in everything. They do it to receive a perishable crown, but we an imperishable one.—We must get rid of every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and run with endurance the race set out for us, keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus.

All the very best for the New Year to Rich and all other contributors to this soooooo important thread. On a busy work day it may almost be the only spiritual material I get, yet it is invariably sufficient to keep me on course.
