This morning Tamara shared a great analogy for addiction. We choose actions which give us short term pleasure but cause long term suffering. Seeking comfort in these unhealthy behaviours, we are like a moth drawn to a flame.
There was the analogy, which I really relate to, with our thoughts being like a waterfall. So easy to get swept away in the torrent! Meditation doesn’t stop the waterfall but it helps us step outside of it and observe it.

Letting go of the things that cause our suffering - the things we seek pleasure in or that we use to avoid discomfort. This is how we find awakening.
