We often feel fear when we are thinking about our perceived version of the the futureture, worrying about what might happen. Bringing ourselves back to the present and focusing on what happens now breaks the cycle of worry and fear, making us more able to deal with what’s actually in front of us.

Today’s Daily Calm was about how we can be our own gatekeeper. We can learn to recognise unhelpful behaviour patterns. When we start to notice them we can start to take a pause when we get the ‘here we go agains’ and eventually try a different response.
