Motivation for early recovery

Hello everyone!

My name is red and I am an early recovery. I’m not sure if I should’ve created a full on topic for this, but for those that are an early recovery maybe this could be a post for us! I have about 20 days sober. I moved from Phoenix, Arizona, where it was infested with drugs everywhereto North Carolina a very small town with probably lots of drugs too, but I haven’t gone looking for them, which is the point. There is no way I would’ve been able to get sober in Arizona. I know they say environmental changes aren’t an affect and they’re absolutely right! to North Carolina a very small town with probably lots of drugs too, but I haven’t gone looking for them, which is the point. There is no way I would’ve been able to get sober in Arizona. I know they say environmental changes aren’t a fix and they’re absolutely right! What makes a change is the person and their motivations behind what they’re doing. I decided to make this move a new start for myself and I’ve stayed sober. When I first moved here, I did relapse because I found stuff stashed in my belongings, but since then I’ve been going to meetings every day And I got a Sponsor  and I’m working the steps! I would love to hear from other people who are an early recovery and needing support. I love to show support to other addicts and alcoholics and recovery

Stay strong and don’t pick up no matter what

Read and post lots especially when you crave. Talking about it completely changes the mindset

Welcome! I am grateful to not be in early recovery anymore, but for me being proactive everyday with sobriety work was key, and it sounds like you are doing just that. I hope you can find some other people with a similar amount of sober time to bond with.
