So I finally watched The Lost Daughter. It was a little slow in the first hour, but I was interested the last hour. Some of the symbolism was a bit strong, but I actually appreciated that the characters were nuanced, even if they werenā€™t neccessarily ā€˜likableā€™. I was really reminded of my own mother, even down to the peeling fruit in one go.

I really liked the book when I read it, but that was like 20 years ago.
Is it played in cinemas? I couldnā€™t find it on netflix or hbomax.

It is on prime here in Germany. But I have no idea if it is available with subtitles for the whole movie.

I havenā€™t seen itnin the movies here but as I am I a rather small town we mainly have US block busters here :roll_eyes:

Get yourself a VPN aka virtual private network I use mine all the time for viewing out of country flicks, if i remember correctly German is your native language? So Iā€™m sure subtitles will be available if you need them.

No, I meant in this case that I donā€™t know if it is available with English subtitles. Itā€™s a German movie.

Iā€™d like to see it too. Sometimes streaming services will subtitle it and put it out or will dub it. Either way, it was a good trailer @anon74766472 . I remember trying to get a copy of Agora was kind of hard. Prime has blocked selling it to anyone in the states, and using VPN didnā€™t help. I would have paid for it, but eventually I just torrented it.

Such a good movie. Totally recommend it.

Save two hours of your life. If you watch this movie, youā€™ll never get that time back. Ugh. It was REALLY bad. Ben Affleck must have owed someone a favor to do this movie.

I tried. I really did.
2 hours and 35 minutes of a tedious :anguished: Sandy dull movie. But my daughter and SIL loved it.

I only watched it because it was nominated for best pic. Canā€™t wait for the sequel :yawning_face:

I really enjoyed this and so did the kidsā€¦ Great take on puberty and the relationship between a mother and daughter, had me crying at the end. :sob:
