Movies Check-in / Reviews šŸ“¼

Looks good. I’ve never seen Billy Cudrup in anything but the Morning Show. And i thought he was great in that. It will be nice to see him do something else. Thanks

Not for the faint-hearted.

I watched it. Just finished it.

The acting was excellent, but the story suffers from ā€œMary Poppins Syndromeā€: having a magical outsider show up who enacts (or is expected to enact) changes. The problem is that the injustice and alienation didn’t start on the outside, and it can’t be fixed from the outside. It’s an organic, systemic, microbial, multifaceted problem, and it needs a solution at a deep, growing, cultural level. (That kind of solution doesn’t make for a very dramatic movie. There’s no magic, no knights rescuing people, no fantasy; instead, the solution is daily healthy tasks and healthy communication and community-building, across a time span of about 200-300 years (to enact the solution on a global scale). The result is peace and education and justice, shared and celebrated.)

I enjoyed the cinematography. I thought it captured the mindset and the atmosphere brilliantly. It was very well done :star_struck:

Went to the theater with my daughter today and she let me pick the movie. I chose Final Destination without watching the preview. I wasn’t expecting gory deaths. Not sure what I was expecting. :joy: Interesting movie though.
Note to self…always check out the preview BEFORE hand.

@Matt
Came across this post tonight. Interesting timing since we were just talking about Led Zeppelin and their significance and contributions to the music world

Just watched this. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Bit frightening in parts. Especially considering what’s going on over here. But it was really good. Thanks for the recommendation.
I think I’ll check out the Stephen Hawking one you posted next.

Sounds frightening. I do not recommend.
Have a good day. I’m on the end of mine.
Going to read something a bit lighter and comical.

I’ll have to look this up sassy. Nice to see you :face_blowing_a_kiss:

We watched CONCLAVE yesterday with my mother in law. It was wonderful. I really enjoyed it and didn’t think I would have. I think the quality of the acting carried it. So intriguing.

When we got home at 9pm we fancied watching a more ā€˜Us’ film and so we watched HERETIC. I flipping loved it. What a fun/engaging/thought provoking and smart quality horror. It was really weird to see Hugh Grant like that, but he was good all the same and it actually allows more sinister joviality to the overall aesthetic. Awesome movie :movie_camera:

Nice to see you too
Funnily enough I watched both of those movies in the last month and I absolutely LOVED Heretic. Conclave as well actually.
It was wild to see Hugh Grant in that role.

You HAVE to watch Incendies though.
I’d love to hear your review on it.
