What about treating yourself instead and giving yourself something to look forward to? I know I love the extra money that I’m not wasting on beer, shots and tips.

What about committing to put the money you would normally spend on beer into a retirement or other long term savings?

So some of the things I have been able to afford in the two years I’ve been sober: I’ve taken a two week trip to Europe, two trips to the Caribbean, redone my backyard, put up a gazebo, bought two new cars, and now we’re completely ripping out and installing a brand new kitchen. Treat yourself to the life you envision for yourself. Once we get sober we become new people and we get the life we deserve.

And get your nails done! It’s good to balance short and long term rewards

Small things,do small things.
I was paid yesterday fromyfrom last job, tiny check many things done with it.
I went to the Spokes which is a bicycle bar/cafe here in Kansas City and got the BF a t-shirt ($20)he loves, went to the farmers market bought fruits and vegetables$11), then on to get my hair styled and made a new freind(20 with tip).
Then home, picked up bike and bought a monthly bus pass($50),good ride, saw friends and after I checked my mail I found out I got a new job in great place so today is buying work pants and finish grocery shopping with money left!
I could have blown it all away by smoking bad shit and had nothing.
I’m so happy you didn’t drink.
You can keep it up!
