My journey to being done

Hello my name is Tyler I just joined this morning and I wanted to share my journey with you and ask for some support in anyway I’m lost right now and I don’t want to lose everything I have worked hard for so here it is I just lost my wife in July,2025 and then my child 6 months later they were my world I’m now a widow. I found a friend after my wife passed away that was fentanyl it stoped all the pain but most of all it changed me from the person I was to a best my daughter told me dad get right I need you and told her I was sober well I lied to her I was all she had and now she is gone cause I could not get my stuff together and she missed her mom so much we both did she just choose to end her pain a different way what I am saying is I have been clean now 119 days but I have lost the two women in my life that meant the world to me I have these urges to use and I don’t know what to do about it I have not gotten high that’s why I’m talking about it now..my name is Tyler and I’m a addict.

Welcome to Talking Sober, Tyler. I can’t truly imagine everything you’ve been through, but I’m glad you’re here and working on your sobriety. All we can do is make it through the day, the hour, the next 10 minutes sober. :people_hugging:

Welcome tyler and thanks for sharing your story. Congrats on 119 days free. If you start working a recovery program hopefully the cravings will subside. Getting sober is step one. Now build up your sober tools and deal with the thoughts feelings and relationships that had you using in the first place.

This place is awesome for support. Welcome to the family.
