Happy sobriety peeps.

I’m taking it for alcohol. Its been 6 days it definitely doesn’t hurt to try it.i do think its helpful with the cravings but it’s not a miracle drug. Im on day 10 and haven’t slipped. They say it takes 7 days to really kick in so I’m gonna keep taking for a while. I’ll keep ya updated. Good luck

It has shown to help decrease cravings. Also, is Acamprosate. Sure both require a Rx.

Keep pushing forward friend, we don’t need/have to drink anymore. Oh, and welcome back!

I use it. Definitely reduces craving and if you consume alcohol on it, you stop very quickly.

However… personally I suffer from severe “brain fog” and headaches when starting the treatment. Mild confusion whilst taking it. It definitely better than drinking but it does seem to have side effects

I take it and find it very helpful. With cravings, also if you drink when taking it I feel no effect from it.

Ive been taking it for 7 days for alcohol. It seems to be helping, with no side effects. I def plan on continuing to take it for a couple of months. Im on day 12 no drinking. There is no miracle drug but it does seem to help with cravings. Best of luck and keep getting on this app as I always pick up something positive every morning when I check in.

I dont like to push big pharma but i will say i have been on it before .i was on the shot form vivitrol and pill form naltrexone . I was on it tor 6 months and had no real side effects it helped with cravings but towards the end of the month ive noticed when i was late on my next shot my energy levels were down and got kinda dizzybat times .my doctor explained it could be just because of the blood lvls trying to return to normal and best way to deal with it was just use the pills when i knew was late for the shot .overall experience was great .i would say tho just because your thinking oh its the magic drug its still going meetings and counseling that makes the shot work the best .just getting the shot should not be enough it should be used for extra protection in early recovery .overall great pill no real side effects

Naltrexone is the generic form so they don’t make much out of us now! Vivitrol is VERY expensive though

Yes it is expensive some healthcare providers its cheap tho for the shot i forgot how much i paid it was around 30 dollars .i think naltrexone was like a dollar a pill maybe id remember

I have used naltrexone in the past and it worked for me but there’s nothing better than good old hard work with meetings and working the steps working with Sponser and all of the other good suggestions that go along with it it’s always tough in the beginning but you can do it. Just remember it’s just for 24 hours sometimes it’s a minute it’s time

I’m Australia it’s not too bad, about $15 a month but to be fair I’d pay $100 a month if it helps. I’m 10 days sober and grateful for all of you.

I feel like it should be just as an extra tool in early Soberity if its available but i agree

Not sure about that. Whatever helps people stay sober is good with me
