Need help navigating things

Hey y’all, how do we go about finding sponsors outside of AA. I dont have a problem with drinking…
I was a heavy/daily user of a drug for the past 5 years and have struggled with SH for 20 years.

I’m alone on my journey (aside from y’all amazing peopleof course :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:) in my daily life, and I could use a sober buddy who can keep me on track and accountable.

Typically, a “sponsor” is found in the 12 step programs, whether it be AA, NA, GA etc. Since alcohol is not your DOC, perhaps NA would be your jam? :slightly_smiling_face:

Do you know how I could find an NA meeting? Maybe online? I work weird hours and have kids so not a lot of free time to be going out… But i do want to succeed and i don’t think i can do it alone. Especially since my partner hasn’t stopped using…

Im sorry to hear your not feeling to good right now.
Take a few really deep breaths this really will help you stay a bit calmer inside.
If you feel you need to call them again then do :hugs:
I can tell you that these feelings will pass, they are temporary please just try to get through even 5 minutes at a time or an hour at a time whichever works.
Your not alone and im glad you have reached out. There is also an app called ‘in the rooms’ many use it here and it has meetings on their that may be easier to navigate. If you cant get on it right now its okay.
Im not sure how you feel about meditation but honestly i didnt think much if until i tried it and now it is one of the only things when im in mental health crisis that brings my feet back to earth and quickly.

Maybe just sit back and rest your neck shoulders and head and just play this, just listen.

Iv noticed for myself that also just sleeping helps to reset my emotions and mind.
Iv read a few others mention that here too so if you feel you need to just sleep that okay.

I hope it helps. If you found it gave you even the smallest comfort do more.
I really like nikki sutton on you tube guided meditations. Her voice really helps me feel at ease and helps me feel less tense.
Have you had something to eat?

I forgot to eat today. But it’s 415am here… So I’ll eat tomorrow. That mediation was very calming!! I will definitely be looking for more of them :blush: only 6 hours until I have to go to work. I’m going to see if there’s a kinda long meditation that i can sleep to.

Thats what i do i listen to long sleep ones.
I find for me eating plays a big role in how i feel by the night time. Have yourself a mice breakfast when you get up.

A small breakfast that is? :kissing_heart: Just kidding. (Guided) meditation is a great one. Funny thing, for me personally it makes me fall asleep really. But i hardly even have a hard time falling asleep, it’s staying asleep that’s my problem at times.
You’ve tried this website / app already @Scorpn ? All kinds of different online meetings there.

I tested it out- it might take a minute to load, but you should be able just scroll down on this page and see a list of meetings sorted by date. I only checked on mobile so not sure about desktop.

I have a hard time falling asleep and staying asleep. But I slept really deeply last night. No dreams! (Which is something I really needed, because I haven’t mastered the art of a nice dream yet) i think I’ll be using sleep meditations more often :blush: thank you @Twizzlers for sending me that suggestion! You’re a lifesaver!
@Mno I will see if i can join a meeting today! Thank you!!! I have been looking with no success, so I appreciate another option :blush:.

I am looking forward to a good day. I just have to get through today and I’ll be at 2 weeks sober.
