So I started up a new hobby recently. Who else here is a cigar smoker? I’ve slowly collected some cigars and have smoked quite a few before in the past but never got a humidor. Picked this one up on Amazon but started thinking about doing a DIY humidor out of a ammo can. Any thoughts, and again I hope this is ok to post if not I’m sorry.

That is a neat small one! To start I have never bothered making one of my own so am no expert, but I’ve used many and own a few different ones. My only concern about an ammo can one would be the lining, most humidors (med-large) are Spanish cedar lined and I think are my favorite for storing because I think my cigars just taste better than from others. Cigars are relatively absorbent (flavor) so the metal interior might alter it slightly. Very interested to know if you do it though and how you like it! Good luck.

Yeah I got the idea off Pinterest lol, and a buddy had made a speaker box out of a ammo can so I was like let me look into it. And yeah I’d have to figure out on putting the cedar wood inside the ammo can and make sure it seals properly. I don’t think I’ll be doing it anytime soon cause I’d have to get the proper tools to do it all but it’s an idea that may or may not come alive.
