It’s not a sad consequence. It’s a proud choice.
There is a common held belief in our society that sobriety is the consequence of our actions or inability to control our liquor or drugs. I don’t see it that way. Discovering that you can’t tolerate a poison isn’t a consequence—it’s a privilege; it’s your body intelligence talking to you loud enough to hear.
