New member in recovery

Good morning yall. my 34th day sober from methamphetamine, marijuana, and alcohol. Just wanted to say thanks to my God(higher power) and my peers in recovery. Im begining to love myself more and more daily, and if theres anybody here thats “not the talking type” or a “bottle it up and work through it cause men dont cry or talk about feelings” kinda person. let me tell you thats a load of crap. i was raised that way and have discovered thats been my number one stumbling block leading to multiple relapses. So if your trying to recover the opposite of addiction is CONNECTION. open up to somebody…and watch how much freedom you gain from your shame and hoplessness. In case nobody’s told you lately, love ya and im proud of your progress, keep it up!!

Welcome Justin! Congrats on your sobriety!

Welcome! It’s great for men to show each other that feeling emotions (other than anger) is normal and healthy! Keep coming back!

Welcome to the forum.

Congratulations on your sobriety. I’m sorry you were brought up being taught to hide your emotions, that wasn’t fair!
