New Years Eve

Just started a new topic here to request everyone that is not going to drink on New Years Eve to check in.

I won’t be and plan to drink water or coffee if around friends that are.

Just helps my resolve to see the people here who are with me.

New Year’s Day will be lucky #21 days of sobriety for me, so no, I’m not drinking and I’m certainly with you!

I’ll be on my own in the middle of f’n nowhere on New Year’s eve (same as Xmas Eve) and there’s a really nice pub literally 15 yards away. I can see it from my window!
But, I’ll be 120 miles away with my boys and grandson on New Year’s Day. And that’s enough to keep me sober now, and then. After that, one day at a time! Got a good feeling about '17 though.

Excited about a sober '17 here. I’ll be sipping lime and soda water (trying to cut back on the coca cola). Also looking forward to making my 5 year son a ‘lime spider’ as a new tradition for NYE. Not sure what you guys call these kind of drinks around the world - it’s lemonade, icecream and lime cordial all frothy and fizzy. I love the idea of celebrating like a kid! Might even go for a nighttime swim in the pool. Also looking forward to a CLEAR head and conscience on the first day of the year :+1::tada:

We turned down a party to stay home with our kids. My husband and I probably won’t stay awake until midnight, but it will be a fun, family filled evening with NO alcohol

I’ll be spending my New Years at home and I’ll make myself available on the chat if anyone needs cheering on if they are feeling tempted.

I’m in a time zone that’s usually behind every so it should work out :grinning:

Hehehe. It’s 10:15am in QLD. So about 14 hours from now :+1: We are holidaying near the border of New South Wales (which has a 1 hour difference in time zone) so there will be 9pm fireworks, 11pm fireworks and 12pm fireworks :joy:
