Hi all…I have kinda known that I’ve had issues with alcohol but I have finally made the decision to stop drinking. I poured all of my open containers down the drain and have put all of the closed containers in a bag to dispose of. I didn’t realize how much money I was spending on this stuff but I’m officially 3 days sober and I’m more hopeful for the first time in a long time.
Congratulations for your decision. Right step in the right direction and welcome to this community. Lots of great people and a lot of wisedom!
Im coming up to 4 days and did the same. Got rid of what I had left and am also feeling more determined than ever before
Thank you all so much!!! I feel motivated now bc I spent the entire day Sunday hungover and throwing up from drinking but I am so terrified in another 1-3 weeks when that goes away and the cravings hit. I feel like I’ve been half ass in my healing where I’m motivated m-f and then the weekend comes and I binge drink to cope with all my strong feelings. I appreciate everyone responding and if anyone has any suggestions with cravings, I’d appreciate it
Congratulations on the first step is actually admitting you have a problem that is not easy
I’ve had an alcohol and cocaine addiction for the best part of 10 years or more I was clean 15 days and had a slip up last week but because of all the support on here I got great advice of where I might have went wrong or what triggered me having that slip and I am on 4 days now again and feeling a lot better physically and mentally
My advice is it will not be easy you will literally have to adjust/change your whole life and don’t be afraid to ask questions on here were all here to help one another
YOU GOT THIS BEST OF LUCK
What an awesome idea!!! Thank you so much for the suggestions and I’m already so grateful for the support in this community!!!
Welcome and congratulations! Take it one day at a time, and always think of the reasons why you are making this choice. I’ve just reached my day one myself. I’m still pretty anxious myself, but we’ve got this! The fact that you’re on here is a huge step in the right direction! Keep staying vigilant and focused.
