No Relapse Memorial Day Weekend!

Hope you are having a great weekend!

Excellent thread! Thank you for getting it started.

I am sober today and for all of the weekend.
How? By sticking to some important routines.

I go to bed and get up around the same time of day.

I drink a lot of water and eat excellent food.

I check this app regularly to remind me that I work on sobriety every day.

I do my jobs around the house so that things are I. Order.

I attend to my marriage. In a loving and fun way. Yes we are older in years. We are young in our love.

I visit with family in ways that celebrate the journey we are all on. I celebrated sobriety with the sober parts of my family on Saturday. Sunday and Monday will see visits and chats with the other parts of my family in ways that get to meaning without compromising my safety. In other words I don’t visit them during their drinking times.

I engage in activities that bring me joy and health: reading for leisure, a bike ride, a kayak ride. Hanging out with my pets.

If I get anxious this weekend, like any day, I will use relaxation techniques, deep breathing, and examine how I can use healthy boundaries to manage those feelings. I will not drink.

Exercise and doing things I enjoy will make me confident that sobriety is good for me. That helps keep my sobriety going too!

I wish you all the best.

He was awesome. He’s actually from New Jersey, so it was like a homecoming for him. We laughed our asses off.

I always appreciate your holiday posts. I went to one party and saw how dazed and slurry people were being and decided I was better off at home where the conversations were more interesting.

I’m grateful for living sober.

Our local aa district has a roundup every Memorial Day weekend. It ends on Sunday after the AA count down. So, we went to that yesterday. Today, I just kicked back, did some yardwork and had some hotdogs.
