No Weight loss

Hi, I am approaching 5 weeks sober now, feel really chuffed with myself. Sleep better, face looks less puffy, concentration improved……but, no weight loss. Is that normal ?

Sure… it’s not a 1 size fits all. Congratulations on 5 weeks :slightly_smiling_face:

Every recovery is different  But for me I did not loose any in the beginning as well. Quit drinking gave me a sweet tooth so I gained weight.
When I had more sober days I got rid of that extra weight.
Congratulations with your 5 weeks!! :confetti_ball:

5 weeks is great work! Yup, pretty common to gain some weight, when the time is right for you, you will figure that out.

Hi
I’ve been sober 38 days and i posted yesterday that I’ve actually gained abit of weight but its completely normal (i think) it’ll just take time.

I thought I would lose weight, but I quickly realized that when I drank, I didn’t really eat, and after I quit I ate everything! So I gained weight.

I did lose weight but had to go to the gym everyday, but when I stopped it all came back, with a vengeance!

Same here. I thought I’m gonna lose some weight but didn’t happen. I’m sober 7months, 4 months on intermittent fasting and my weight started dropping just few weeks ago.

Gonna give that a go.

I’m about four and a half months sober, and my weight has remained pretty constant, but I have been snacking like a maniac, so, in a way, I think that is positive net effect!

When I want to lose weight, I actually find it a lot easier to increase the amount of exercise I do rather than reduce the amount I eat. I guess those involve two different kinds of willpower… :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

I’ve stopped drinking, been eating way healthier, going for long walks…my weight stays the same. So I feel ya.
