Nontraditional addiction. Just started

Hello, I just started this app and community, but I’ve been thinking of it for a while now. I am finally overcoming depression, I was close to self harm but didn’t want to end up in a psych-ward against my will, so I turned to sugar. I was bindging on anything I could, hiding my stash from my husband. And if anything upset me or stressed me out I would lay down and eat myself sick. I cannot fathom what others go through being addicted to drugs, alcohol, etc., but I know that sugar is hurting my body. I want to stop turning to sweets as a coping mechanism.
