Nothing special

I got my 3rd DUI in 2022 and spent the next 18 months sober. Dealing with medical issues not related to drinking. Then one day i picked up another bottle. 18 months down the drain. I am scared. I know i am sober for the next 24. Just putting myself out there. A story even i have hurd. Nothing special just making the wrong decision. Heres to my second 24.

You’ve done it before you can do it again. Welcome to TS :bouquet:

Welcome- glad you’re here. I had previously relapsed after a year sober, and now I’m back with over two years. Starting again was the hardest part, and you’ve already done that. You still have all the knowledge and tools from your 18 months. Happy to have you with us!

Welcome here. The great place to remain sober with help. Have you thought about AA or another recovery program?

Perhaps your relapse was the final convincer for you that booze doesn’t make your life better?

Even though you have to start your counter over, that 18 months doesn’t just go down the drain. You still have the experience gained and everything you learned during that year and a half under your belt. It still counts for a lot! You did it before, you can do it again, and now you have the experience to think that first drink through to its bitter end next time the craving hits. Congratulations on renewing your desire to live sober! YOU GOT THIS! :purple_heart:

Currently attending AA over zoom. I really struggle with the inperson meetings and always feel very unconformable at them.

Zoom meetings are great. Resources online are a valuable resource. You gotta do you. I am here rooting for you.
