Online Safety

If there is anything that is synonymous with drinking daily is negligence smothered with oversight. In a moment of weakness I followed a link in FB, where I provided some of my info. Including my phone number.

I began receiving regular phone calls and had to block each number. The calls have stopped but now I receive texts with links.
NEVER click on a link in a text message. They install background software used to hack your accounts.

I made out okay because I know better. What would it be like to lose access to your bank and software subscriptions used for work?

Do a search for security keys and pick one up. They look like a thumb drive. A security key holds an encrypted identity. Whenever you change/update a password you will be prompted for your key. A physical device hackers won’t have.

My laptop, tablet and phone are protected with the one key. (I also use anti-virus and anti-malware software)

Don’t let a rough spot in life become rougher.

So true. Spam texts and emails and phishing are a plague these days. You can’t be too careful. Thanks for the reminder :innocent:
