Love this, thanks for sharing! I also feel taking vitamins to help with dopamine, serotonin & brain function have been super helpful:
•L-Tyrosine
•L-Tryptophan
•L-Glutamine
•L-Theanine
•Taurine

I questioned myself often about whether or not I had a real problem with drinking. I hadn’t hit any sort of rock bottom… I didn’t lose my home, my car, my family, or a job. So why did I quit? After hundreds of blackouts and hangovers, losing entire days of my life to over drinking, not being present for myself or my family, and not making good memories, I decided enough was enough. I couldn’t keep living that way. So I said my final goodbye to alcohol. It doesn’t always take hitting a rock bottom to admit you have a problem. Sometimes it takes knowing life is worth more, we are worth more than our addiction.
Sometimes I think hitting rock bottom is just running out of excuses
Hi all I just found this thread today and I love it. Thanks so much for posting all these amazing resources. I’ve only read the William porter books and naked mind before but will definitely look into some of these other recommendations now. Thank you
That definitely could have been it for me.
I’m glad you found some helpful resources. I need to post here more often. Re-reading these shares helps me stay on track.
Something I’m working on
This must be one of the reasons why I love being out in nature. I don’t talk so meanly to myself out there. Thanks so much for sharing. This is something I need to work on, too.
Rock bottom in my opinion is when you take responsibility for your actions/life. So when you do that before really bad things happen (often called rock bottoms) you’re doing a great job. Respect!
A must listen for understanding our emotion and culture. It is so interesting! I also think that this has a hand in some of the troubles TS has when people of different cultures miscommunicate.
This is a great book. Neurology is an amazing topic. You can do so much to heal your brain. I lost my binocular vision a few years ago and research, exercises that helped with reconnecting my brain to my eyes and patience brought back a lot of vision loss. Humans are amazing creatures
I thought I’d revive this thread a bit. Miss you Moxie.
Anyway…
I’ve found meditation to be a very valuable tool in both my recoveries. Here’s a few articles if anyone is interested.
And a podcast about meditation. Or you can read about it.
I love this!
