So I started my sobriety in the ER, after so much abdominal pain and dehydration and a lot of other things. I have drank liquor w/ wine or beer everyday I know since before Covid, only not drinking on the days when I felt sick and even that was hard to do I would almost drink anyway knowing I was already sick. But seriously it’s been about 3 days my stomach hurts just as bad if not more. I know my stomach has taken a major hit from all the damage that was done I did do a lot of test in the Er ultrasound ect they said I’m fine at least not much damage was done that they can see, but has anyone else experienced that, is it a acid or gas build up? I’m even bloating more…. Idk what to do. I was told working out would help with keeping me busy I did that, and that was a a major bad choice or sore and my stomach still aches. Any advice ?
@Keithvii - sorry to hear that you continue to feel unwell. My one piece of advice will always be: don’t seek medical opinions from strangers on an Internet forum and instead go (back) to see a medical professional who is trained to diagnose and treat you… or indeed put your mind to rest if there are no serious underlying causes. Good luck!
Welcome Eric!
It takes time to flush all those toxins out of your system. My advice is to follow up with your primary physician.
Wishing you the best on your journey.
Hi @Keithvii for the first few days I would advise you to drink plenty of water and eat what you can and give yourself plenty of rest . Working out is a great thing to do but do you think you may have pulled a muscle in your stomach if you were hitting it hard ? allow your body time to recover for a bit, things will come in their own time if you continue to remain sober one day at a time
I had stomach ulcers from drinking, where the alcohol wore away the protective coating or lining of my stomach.
I needed medical help and medication to reverse the damage. I hope the OP seeks medical help if that pain continues.
Thank you everyone for opnions.
