Painkillers Or "Medical Marijuana" for arthritis pain

I am 29 years old and am awaiting to see a rheumatologist for possible lupus, mixed connective tissue disorder, or rheumatoid arthritis. I have chronic pain and have to sleep a long time to fight fatigue. I may be precsibed pain medications and anti-inflammatories. I endure pain and was wondering what are your thoughts of “medical marijuana.” I am 221 days sober, but with my condition, should I relieve my pain with pain-killers or medical marijuana.

That’s a question for your doctor. Be honest about your disease and your sobriety and whatever is prescribed take as ordered. If you don’t think that’s possible, definitely tell your doctor.

I agree with @Englishd. Be open and transparent with your physician about your sobriety.

I agree with them also. This is between you and your doctor to determine, just be open and honest. I have seen it do some amazing things for people without the pharmaceutical drugs but I’ve also seen it make people really lazy and have no ambition for life. It really all depends, but I wouldn’t rule it out totally unless you think you may have an issue with it. Be honest with yourself as much as your doctor. Good luck and I hope you find answers, I’ve been where you are and know how frustrating it is. Hugs!
