Wowza! I had to slice off the top of the plant and pick apart the matted dirt. Then I had to slice the bottom into slices like pie and put them point down in their pots.
4 hours later. Hello little shoots.
@HolySquid You just reminded me that I once spent a month nurturing and talking to a flower stalk, pinning it carefully all the way up the stick only to discover it was a root!

But I admit, every time there is a little bump visible, I hope for it to be a flower shoot, but most of the time it develops into a root. I have learnt to live with the disappointment
My wild lilies this past summer!! I came home and there was a paper bag with 2 lilies with a note saying that they’re from the hillside behind their house and noticed my flowers and decided to contribute to my flowers!! 2 lilies can multiple like crazy!!
