Photos of where you live

It looks like it’s from the movie Pleasantville. So retro-cool :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

A short bimble this evening over looking Start Bay and the remains of the old fishing village at the bottom of the cliff that was washed away during a storm.

January 1917 storm

A combination of easterly gales and exceptionally high tides breached Hallsands’ defences. Eyewitnesses indicated “the seas came tumbling in, shaking everything all to pieces. We became greatly alarmed”, the gales increased, with walls coming down, and waves going over the house rafters.

Then onwards and down to Start Point Lighthouse.

Being close to the sea I always imagine must feel quite empowering somehow. All hills and moors around here.

I get a good sense of calm by the sea much like i do when on the moors. Im lucky to live between the coast and Dartmoor. No phone signal, no noise or groups of people. Bliss

Where are wild peacocks?! We just have wild turkeys round here

Wild turkeys are everywhere, and they’re pretty disgusting. I actually thought these wild peacocks were wild turkeys when I approached as they were in the street and on lawns and such, much like turkeys. I guess wild peacocks are somewhat common in southern Florida. I’m in st Pete (Tampa) and I guess they’re everywhere here, but I’ve never seen them (only lived here a few years). Learned all this today because I was rather shocked to come across them. They were not scared of me at all. And they are loud.

From earlier today after the skate park.. went to the bookstore that I like a lot but also has a good selection of TV shows and movies. Probably my favorite part of sobriety is just riding my bike around

If this place doesn’t look familiar that’s probably a good thing!

See you in October! :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

I’m guessing courthouse …
That is also one of the most American looking buildings I have ever seen.

Took advantage of a sunny warm Spring day (as opposed the cold and wet ones of late) and took a lunch break walk along the river. Goslings are hatching. Bridge is to Quebec….another day I’ll walk the opposite direction and get a photo of downtown/Parliament

Yeah it’s the courthouse. I been there a bunch because of bad choices related to my old lifestyle plus I used to deliver food there for certain restaurants over the years. Definitely have some stories about that place. It’s the scariest building in Jacksonville in my opinion or one of them. October when I go before the Judge for early termination of probation that will be the last time I set foot in that Building thank God

Give it time .. when you stick around and participate you move up trust levels . Posting photos doesn’t take long to happen.

Never been to Phoenix but I lived in Tucson for a year.Arizona is a Cool state that’s for sure. Good food, no rain and lots of hiking/ biking

I as a teen spent my fair share of time in our local courthouse. I fortunately never received any adult charges not that I didn’t deserve some .

That’s definitely good you didn’t have to deal with stuff like that as an adult. It’s good to talk about these things because that’s where my addiction takes me. The courthouse, the hospital, detox and a bunch of other places that suck.
