Welcome back!! Glad u returned!! I have no idea on rehabs in Texas (as I am in Canada). But i have been to rehab/treatment etc a number of times. If i was to give suggestions based on my experience, I would say…

  • Dont get involved with the potential drama that can occur in rehab with other participants. I learned overtime to focus on myself and my recovery, instead of making “friends” there.
  • Treatment only works if u put in the effort to make it work. Put just as much (if not more) effort into ur recovery as u did to get high.
  • If I wanted to leave (which was actually something I experienced), i would tell myself to just stick it out for the day. I wouldnt make impulsive decisions and just leave. Give urself the day to calm and become rational again. Talk to the counsellors there. Get some food. Get some rest. And see how u feel tmrw. Your life is on the line. Addiction is no joke.

Hope ur able to find a good rehab to go to. I definitely learned alot from going. They have made a HUGE impact on my recovery

Hey :waving_hand: one steP at a time; so glad you are recognising that you want help. I did rehab a couple of decades ago. This time I stayed indoors for nearly 8 days and did constant all day online meetings until I felt strong enough to go outside sober and practise living sober. One steP at a time. Share here as much as you need to ; we are all here with you :flexed_biceps:t2::raising_hands:t3::sunflower::heart_hands:t3::tulip:

Old thread, but I’ve been through it myself at Profound Treatment, so I’ll just say how it went for me.

The thing I enjoyed was the routine, which surprised me. Meals with the same people, no phone, nothing to organise. I brought my own pillow and a decent towel and that made a difference, and I read more in those weeks than I had in years.

The urge to leave hit me around the first week and again about three weeks in. I talked to a counsellor about it rather than sitting on it, which helped more than I expected.

The relapse fear was the thing I brought up on day one rather than letting it build. Hearing they had a plan for it made it less terrifying.
