I’ve been Addicted to porn for years and for years try to stop and continue to relapse, I’m hoping this app and everyone’s advice and everyone else’s experiences can be enough to pull me out

Hello and welcome!
It’s been a hard road for me too. First identified that I had a problem about 5 years ago. Currently 310 days free from acting out with porn. Obviously there were a lot of bad choices that occurred in my early attempts at recovery. “Don’t be ashamed about the things you’ve done to Kill your sadness.” (Or insert any other emotion really)
Breaking the Cycle by George Collins really helped me to begin the process of dealing with the underlying issues that led me toward compulsive behavior.
This app has also provided me with the accountability that I’ve needed. There’s a great community of support here. Group work and 12 step programs are really helpful for some. I’m pretty remote and haven’t gotten into that yet but I do believe it would benefit me if I did choose to make the 3hr drive to a nearby SLAA or SAA meeting. There are phone or online meetings also.
Bottom line, do whatever you’ve gotta do to stay clean. Looking forward to seeing you participate. Reach out if you need anything.

Welcome to TS @Cdelgado56! You’re in good company for your recovery. I’ve been inspired every day by these guys on here and I’m sitting at 102 days currently in my first true attempt. Impossible without this community. There are many stories we’ve posted on here, so feel free to search back in the forum for our discussions. Many of us are also rather active, and check in every few days. Here’s to taking the steps that matter. Glad you’re with us

I’ve been struggling for a while as well, but I’m 115 days clean now, this network really helped me stay accountable. You’re making a good choice, I’m glad you’re with us and I hope you get as much as I have from this community.

That’s what I do everytime I have an urge, I just start reading any thread on this app. For me I’ve found now that the urges are less frequent so that’s a good thing. Having self control and willpower is an amazing feeling which is helping in other areas of my life. Keep it going man, be the best version of yourself. =)

Yes. My porn addiction is completely connected with using meth. Hours wasted watching endless porn while smoking meth. Complete loser.
Your not a complete loser at all mate,i used to watch porn whilst smoking crack but havnt watched it once since stopping using. Nobody is perfect. If you tell yourself that your a loser then what is there to recover for?
