All he wants is love, too. Such a sweet boy. Always by my side lol
Oh and he wants to chase birds and critters while he drags me on the leash. My thighs are crying from running up steep hills full throttle

Last week I started taking Chief into the nature trail behind my building for his evening walk (rather than traditional leashed walk on pavement). He 100% prefers life offleash so of course he likes it. But the woods just bring something out of him! Like it awakens some part of the wild animal in him, he just gets so into it. So many smells, so many things to look at, so many things to pee on. These photos are from yesterday’s stroll.

He’s off his leash pretty much all the time, unless we’re going somewhere it’s required or we’re anywhere near a road/parking lot. He tolerates his harness but def not a fan, lol.
I’m glad I was so consistent and serious about his training when he was a puppy. I put in a lot of time and patience, and it’s resulted in a very, very well-behaved little gentleman (part of this can also be attributed to his intelligence, got very lucky there too). Its nice to be able to walk with him like this and not have to worry about him running off or approaching someone/another dog uninvited who may not want to interact with him.

That’s the dream! Maggie has just started ambushing people and dogs (in a friendly way, but still) she thinks look interesting 🤦 her recall is quite good with no distractions but she’s just too easily excited at the moment. She’s still a baby though so am hoping it will get better if we stick with it

Def takes time! It also helps as they settle down a little as they age. EVERYTHING is exciting to a pup!
Chief generally doesn’t pay any mind to other dogs. He just wants their owners…you know, not like I’m there or anything!
