She is thanks.
The shelter, 14 years ago, had her named as Skinny Minnie because she was so skinny. We dropped the Skinny and fattened her up quickly.
Sully looks like he enjoys his groceries :joy:
What a good boy.

Haha he is on liquidifed kibble with enzymes transitioning to raw. He had…

…been incredibly sick with EPI so we are very lucky he survived and didn’t end up with massive organ failure.

Omg. That sounds terrible. I had no idea. He just looked so happy and comfortable in that bed. Bless his little heart. He’s lucky to have a great mom like you. Is he just a young pup?

Yes I got him from a registered breeder - he was sick when he came to me. Been a long hellish nightmare. Vets didn’t even validate what I was seeing. He is 11 months now.

I just started googling it. It sounds dreadful. I’ve not had to deal with that one before. We’ve had our share of cancers and tumors and kidney and liver problems in various pets. But not that. I hope you can fix him. He’s such a beautiful boy.

Had Chief’s oncologist visit this morning. Originally they couldn’t see him until mid-January, but they had a cancellation so we got in today!

Based on everything, he doesn’t think chemo or radiation is a necessary step at this point, so that’s great. Low-grade tumor, so recurrence in the same spot is the biggest concern. What we decided to do was look into a revision surgery with a surgeon who is qualified to go deep into the tissue to get the lingering remanants of the cancer (this will be up to the surgeon to determine if it’s feasible or not).

Additionally, we did an ultrasound of his entire abdomen to confirm no metastasis…which was all clear! So again, the greatest risk is of it growing back locally, which the revision surgery would address if successful. I am glad to have that peace of mind from the ultrasound, even if the initial grading of the growth suggests no spread – this confirmed it.

He is now prone to developing these tumors, so could happen again in future possibly. But for now I feel comfortable saying that the prognosis is good!

We were also supposed to go get his staples out at his normal vet later today, but they offered to do it at the oncologist office…saves me an hour or two, and it meant we got to stop and get back to playing ball on the way home!

His eyes almost popped out his head when he looked out the car window and saw we were at the baseball field

I’m sure he’s glad to be free of those staples. Probably not very comfortable to have on his shoulder like that.

I’m sure it was irritating him, the staples. I just had a big smile thinking of his face when he saw the field! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
