Great chance to get him to the beach early today – low tide about 530am, we were there about 630 til 8am. Beautiful spring morning, nice and cool. Will probably take him every weekend until they stop permitting dogs at the end of May. He loves it here and I do, too. Hardly any people around.

I grew up at this beach, I was born in this town. Everything here is exactly as it was 30+ years ago. Unfortunatey that will likely change, as the entire boardwalk was purchased by a local wealthy couple seeking to “update and modernize” it :persevere:

I’ll enjoy it for now

I wish we could here! There might be ones around but none that I know of, especially a big beach like this one that goes on for miles. They’re allowed early September to late May. It’s a very busy beach in summer, so I guess understand why. Cracking day here today so it’ll be loaded with people this afternoon.

And I agree. I love the old restaurants and the open-front arcade here, which haven’t seen updating since they were built in the early 80s. There used to be an amusement park here with a huge old style wooden-frame rollercoaster. That was all closed and taken down just before I was born though, think it was 85 or 86.
They still have an old-fashioned horse carousel as well, with the organ music and everything. Loved it as a kid.

Big art deco style beach house which I love. Thats newer though, built late 90s, I remember it getting put up.

I also read into “update and modernize” as, “get ready for everything here to double in price”.

I wish I could bring him over there! Its such an expensive process (my Dad raised a dog here, and it cost him like $2k to bring it back…just with how strict the protocol is for brining animals into Ireland and UK, and all the related fees and forms etc).

Plus im not sure how Chief would do in the cargo with the luggage. He’s tough but he’s a sensitive little guy too, especially if im not there to reassure him

I spend a lot of time at a fishing village in Waterford, always think its a pity I can’t get him there

Ha, a nice stay with his Irish brother Murphy!

Chief is from upstate New York, so I think he might be a bit Dutch…lot of Dutch heritage out that way.

“WTF do you want??” :joy::joy::joy:

I wonder if Chief’s any distant relation of @Mno :joy:

Minnie loves to cook in the sun.
She use to like the furniture outside til she got old. This is her favorite spot. With a chin up.
