When I was in treatment my cat ended up taking off and hasn’t come back. I’ve had him since 2007. I feel like my wife stopped feeding him or something, maybe not giving him attention or love like I did, for him to just decide to leave while I was gone. Maybe he went looking for me.
When I lived in Colorado, one winter he ran off and was gone for 3 months. During blizzards and everything. I started to accept he had probably passed on, but then I randomly got a call from a family who said he was at their house and they gave him food and they were asking if I wanted to come get him or just to let him back outside. He’s an outdoor cat and a survivor, and I figured he had been going to other families and getting fed plenty. I said they could just let him back outside if they wanted to, and then didn’t see him again for a week. He came back fatter than ever.
I hope the same thing is happening right now but I just don’t know, he’s much older now. His name is Widget.
Doggo transformation. Left is the fox 9 years ago about 6 months after I got him off the street and right is the other day. (He looks like he was judging me hard in the left picture lol)
I’m GRATEFUL my girl Riley has weighed in at 5.8lbs today!! She has hyperthyroidism and has struggled to get above 5lbs!
And this is her wanting her daily meds, no lie, she swallows it whole in a piece of cheese! I’ve had cats who didn’t want to take their meds, so I know how hard it can be. I’m very lucky!
