The latest addition to our family, Mischka our all-black GSD pup. She was born this past Easter weekend, and we picked her up last Saturday. Our three cats are a bit miffed, but they’ll get over it.
congratulations. she’s dreamy.
Thanks! It’s been a few years since we’ve had a dog. When the last two passed on, both at ripe old ages, it took a lot out of me. My wife and daughter had been making noises about getting a dog again, and I was finally ready.
She’s smart and really sweet. Naturally obedient, but we’ll go through the classes with her just the same. She’s already latched on to me, since she spends the most time with me.
What a beautiful sweetheart!
Lupe has been showing signs of slowing down in her old age recently. Last summer we were walking a couple miles a day no problem, this year the distance has slowly needed to be shortened. Our usual one mile seemed to really take it out of her this morning. Keeping an eye on her, but she is still living her best life! She has the whole side of my husband’s tiny office to herself.
Here’s my little girl Riley, hopefully on the mend. She’s been on her new (hyperthyroidism) meds for a couple of days.
Good sign was she took Max’s bed, and when he came up, knew not to roll over on her. I think she has a smile on her face.
Ohhhh how precious! Love the name too!
My daughter desperately needs an emotional support animal. So we are in a trial phase with calypso. I like cats, i just dont like owning cats lol. Im a dog person. I will do anything for my daughter to have what she needs. I know cats select their people, people dont select their cats. So fingers crossed this cat selects my daughter. I appreciate that we can do this on a trial basis because its a need for her mental health and not just a “want” for the family this time as we commit to an animal.
For now, and hopefully for the rest of cats life, we weclome calypso
I truly pray she selects my daughter as her human and not me or my husband.
What a beautiful cat.
Prayers for your daughter
And of course you and Calypso.
Daisy selected me, but like a lot of cats if you’re the one feeding it as I did Daisy when I rescued her from the cold winter, they will select you for that too. I prefer to think it was my charming personality
Definitely the personality, im sure the food helped lol we placed everything in her room. Food, water, liter everything. Shes a beautiful and friensly cat. I like cats. Just never been a huge cat person is a. They are pretty and entertaining and loveable.
I hope it works out!!
If you have all in her room, they say make sure the litter box isn’t too close to their food & water. But if she’s anything like Riley, probably wouldn’t care if she’s eating while pooping.
Thats funny cuz its true i have no shame
Me either!
Not that you asked. But I’d put the litter box in a different room. Or at least have another option. And definitely keep it away from the food and water as far as possible.
And these are like cat crack. If you your daughter gives her one of these treats a day.
Maybe y’all will do fine with regular cat treats.
I just hope it works for y’all.
And You know what to do with my advice. Take what you want leave the rest
And we’ll need pics of Calypso
More pics
I agree, the squeezable type of treats mimicking tuna or such, cats love. What’s funny the only dry or moist cat treats Riley won’t eat is Temptations. I’m sure she would the tuna pouches tho.
She’s currently hooked on Blue Wilderness soft & moist treats. They’re grain free so good for her condition.
