I know it’s the stereotypical beach pic. But. White sand and fresh air and the sound of waves makes me so happy… :ocean:

I love huge boulders and the blue upon blue of the mountains.

From today near Idyllwild, CA.

I finally slept but it took a long time, resulting in oversleeping this morning, ugh. Light wasn’t the problem. I had relationshiT, meh. But it’s ok, this morning was ok.

Not nature, but quirky - one of the steps outside a building we’re working on at the moment.

So pretty!!

I always thought they were Birds of Paradise too. But my app didn’t list it that way. My app gives all the different names and BoP wasn’t one of them.

These guys are BoP

I mean I haven’t actually done any real research :face_with_monocle:
But I am enjoying my Picture This App

I guess they call it the travelers palm because it looks like all the flowers are in a suitcase

Yes, those are the smaller BOP. There is another variation, the larger…

Travelers palm have similar blooms, but a very distinct way of growing and mature ones are easy to identify. The stems all fan out.

Edited to add…I do love the blooms and color of the small BOP. We could never get ours to bloom. But the large ones bloomed a lot, especially after getting whacked down by a hurricane and then growing again. I figured out real quick that Florida (aka tropical or semi tropical) plants LOVE a good cut.

Mine are totally neglected except when I cut them back because they take over our tiny back yard. I never water them. I use to love them. But they really take over my tiny patch of patio. I do prefer the littler ones. And they look more manageable. I guess our marine layer and humidity is all it needs to grow.
