they love to touch the water with the tips of there wings when they fly. I wonder how many albatross get wing smacked by tuna.

I haven’t been taking my canon out because of a couple close calls getting it wet. I got waterproof backpack and Im feeling safer bringing it along.

On long line trips we usually set gear and let it soak for 3-5 hours. I sleep on the way out, and do wheel watch while everyone else snoozes during the soak.

The albatross come in and wait for us to pull gear so they can eat the scraps behind us. These are my best shots so far of one coming in and landing.

I love the albatross!

I’m not sure what’s up with the moon. It has been huge and really orange the last few days. Unfortunately no pictures can make it fair. Reality is much more amazing.

But I did a try, I even managed to catch this amazing sunset on one of our walks.

Hike this morning to Mt. Parnassus. My hiking partner was not feeling so well when we got to 12600 ft. So we rested, made coffee, had our snacks, and hiked down. We were just 900 vertical feet from the summit. Sometimes you don’t make it to the top. But as Emerson said, it’s not the destination, it’s the journey. That was just fine with me today.

Bye for now…
