PTSD sucks and I wish it didn’t even exist

PTSD what is PTSD PTSD is post traumatic stress disorder

And I of all people live with this disorder

Well the reason I’m talking about this topic today is because I am haveing a PTSD moment and I have no medicine or anything to help me get through this shit

All day today I have been dealing with back Flashes and the intrusive thoughts of what happened in my past and for once I wish I could catch a break but you now you never will get a break from PTSD it will always will be with you

And there is no cure for it ether so that’s why I am posting I am wondering if there is someone out there that has the same issues or close to the same issues that I have

So if you guys have any advice I would greatly appreciate it and on top of that if anyone is dealing with it to I am so open to talk to you to try to make you feel better well that is all talk soon :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

I was diagnosed with cptsd. Those that have ptsd or cptsd go thru alot for sure and it can be very debilitating. Usually when i get flashbacks or get triggered, i have to do various things to bring myself back into the present. Deep breathing really helps as well as this technique:

I also have to say out loud various things to remind me that i am safe, that i am no longer in that situation etc. Talking it out helps. Exercise and distraction has helped me. Lavender essential oils have helped me to calm. Showers have helped. I basically have a “toolkit” of techniques or activities that i know that i can do to help me thru the times that im experiencing an episode. There is no cure, but i do find that the more i practice these coping skills, the less intense the episodes are. Thats my experience anyway but its been a loooong road.
How have u been feeling since u posted this?

Please please please look into EMDR therapy. It helped me get passed my ptsd from a rape. I had never heard about it but it simulates REM sleep.

This is my background on my phone.
It does help.

I have been diagnosed with

I feel your pain. Some days it’s harder than others. You’re doing the best you can. And coming here is a great tool to help remind you that you’re not alone, and that you have a safe space to talk about it. We’re all here to help support you and help you work through it.

I’m feeling some what ok but still going through it

The essential oils that you talk about I can’t really do because I have seizures and some smells aren’t good for me

Specially lavender lavender I am really allergic to so to be honest that’s really out of the question for me

But I will try to do some what of the other stuff you have suggested for me
thank you for reaching out and thank for taking the time to talk i hope you and your family have an amazing day

 I can’t agree with this enough.

EMDR saved my life (I too have been diagnosed with complex PTSD). I am also (still, for now), on medications for anxiety and depression.
