Hey all! Now that I’m 5 months sober from alcohol, it seems like a good time as any to quit smoking. I set a quit date for oct. 1st. I feel ready but at the same time, on the verge of a panic attack. I wrote 3 different list to put up around my home. 1. why I want to quit, 2. triggers (so I know when I’ll be most vulnerable), 3. what to do when the cravings hit (i.e. deep breathing, drinking tea, chocolate or gum, etc). Any advice or experiences will be appreciated. Thanks.

Congratulations on 5 months! I’m just behind you at 4.5!
I’ve been using nicotine patches and have been going for a month. I was a monster to start with but levelling off now. Have tagged you in another thread and am going to link to it here too in case anyone else reading this wants to hop on:
Our quitting of cigarettes thread
My main tip, if you use patches, even the 24 hour ones, TAKE THEM OFF BEFORE BED. I made the mistake of putting a 24 hour patch on in the evening and had the most disturbing dreams! Like I had a dream within a dream and it messed me up for a couple of days
