Really sweaty! (Alcohol recovery)

Hi. I unfortunately had to reset my clock again and had a weeks binge.

Anyway day 2 ends now and I’ve been seriously sweating (embarrassingly) like just going up some stairs or walking for 5 minutes.
I have never noticed this before as a withdrawal symptoms.
Is this a typical withdraawl symptom? Anyone else get this?

I can say 100% yes! The worst time for me it took a month and then it got considerably better. If you haven’t been at it for but a week maybe it will pass quickly

In June-July of 2014 I had just started to come off my worst period ever! I was so wet I would wake up to change tshirts 3 times a night. I was a wreck. Not sure anyone else ever had the peeling skin on hands but yeah I figured that was a symptom also. Even after that I went back a few times. I was dedicated

I’ve been experiencing that too. It’s uncomfortable and weird. I didn’t drink daily. Maybe 2x a week but heavily. Like 1-2 bottles of wine. So I was like no this can’t be withdrawal but I guess so

Yes,it was like that for me…I had to change my shirt sometimes at night few times…it was so uncomfortable!!! 8(It will go away after few days probably!8)

Oh for sure! Hot and cold sweats!

OK glad you say it’ll pass!
It’s just so weird because I’ve quit before and can’t remember being so sweaty… But I guess before I was having headaches and anxiety so maybe just didn’t notice so much!
It really is so gross. It makes my makeup all smeary and yeah… the under-the-boobs drip.

At least I’ll definitely stay sober now because I never ever want to have to quit again.

I read an article somewhere, that the liver is working so hard that the internal temperature of your body increases. In turn, causing you to sweat. Your body is doing the majority of healing while your asleep.

Alcohol effects the nervous system, circulatory system, widens blood vessels, and increases heart rate. All of these things can increase perspiration. If you experiencing increased sweating it is alcohol withdrawal. There is little you can do to speed up the process, it releases slowly. About 10% of alcohol comes out of our sweat. There are ways to increase the metabolism through hardcore diet, exercise and hydration.

Even when I slipped for a few days I spent the next 2 days after stopping having night sweats and waking up drenched. One time after a particularly long binge that ended up in alcohol poisoning I sweated badly for a few weeks. It goes away thank goodness!

I get extremely sweaty too . And I wake up at night dripping sweat. It sucks !!!

Have u not been prescribed clonidine? Its meant for alcohal withdrawals. Iwas prescribed them for my suboxone… opiate withdrawal and they work great.

I feel you. I’m day four sober, been drinking for 10 years. This is the first time I’ve noticed the shakes, sweats and chills not fun. Try drinking lots of water, eating, resting, showers.

Story of my life. 8 days. Still terrible night sweats and vivid nightmares.

Granted they do seem to be getting slowly better.
