For 3 years I had done so good. Then last Saturday happened and I relapsed. I’m feeling really put out with myself.
What types of things were you doing to maintain your sobriety during those 3 years? Sobriety is very difficult without a fundamental shift of how we perceive alcohol imo. If you feel like you’re being deprived because you cannot drink it makes it really tough. I think the key is shifting that perception.
Sorry to hear about your relapse. That sucks Back in the saddle. What’s something you haven’t tried yet that you are open to now?
Sorry about relapse. After 3 years sober you know what to do and proved you can live sober. Let’s start again. I am rooting for you
Sorry to hear about your relapse. Don’t focus on the relapse, rather focus on getting 3+ years again. You did it once, you CAN do it again! We’re here for you
I’ve been where you are. The bad feeling about it can eat you up. My relapse was a few months after my 5 years milestone. I thought I was “cured”.
Good part of your story is that you are here again shortly after your relapse.
It took me 1,5 year to get back at the sober train.
What has helped me when I started with my day 1 after my relapse was being here every day. The stories here kept me reminding about what drinking would do to me if I did.
Still here after years and in september I’m 6 years sober. I’m beaten my last strike of 5
You can do better then your last milestone as well. You are here so let’s go!
