Recovery dharma

I have been reading and not making much progress. I think I need to start doing the actual writing bit but I’ve been putting it off!

@anon86726034 I will start a book club thread tomorrow. Looking forward to having some people to work through it with.

So it appears some program things are universal.

Okay… so I’m also curious knowing the same gets asked of AA all the time and the best answer is, “Just go check it out.”

All the same, what’s the Recovery Dharma meeting format like (if you can say)?

Good i actually read the whole book already, listening does help. Meditations at the end is great and helpful. Glad your getting into it.

Actually never been to either dharm or AA meetings yet.

The one I went to started with an intro from the chair, the principles got handed round and we took in turns reading them, then a meditation and then time to discuss. I think they have suggested meeting formats and meditations on the website too.

I was involved with refugee recovery and dharma punx for a little while and went to the national convention two years ago. I’m not so active with my mediation these days, but I still learned so much about impermanence and staying in the moment. It’s a huge part of my recovery. I couldn’t have done it without what I’ve learned from AA, but a lot of refuge/dharma people are also 12 steppers. Good luck to you!

Hmm. I think I need to do the “just go check it out.”

Like @ChristopherX, I know some 12 steppers who also do Dharma, particularly for the group meditation. It sounds rad.

Sounds familiar, oh yes? Isn’t that like an AA meeting?:joy::joy:

Haha no! I am as slow  Not by me anyway. Could be a good time for me to revisit.

Although I have seen @Fargesia_murielae posting some RD stuff, along with ACT (therapy, can’t remember what the AC stands for)

I think I saw @EarnIt posting some RD stuff too…
